SANCTUARY GUESTHOUSE ESTATE – PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY AND DISCLAIMER
Guests are required to sign this disclaimer on arrival. The Tourism Grading Council of South Africa recommends that this indemnity be in place for the protection of both guests and the establishment. In the case of a group booking, a single representative must sign the document on behalf of all members of the group, confirming that they have read and accepted these terms.
You, the guest (including your companions, pets, invitees, and persons under your care), acknowledge that you enter the premises of Sanctuary Guesthouse Estate, including guest cottages, gardens, reception, parking areas, and all facilities, entirely at your own risk.
By confirming you’re booking or checking in, you agree to fully indemnify and hold harmless Sanctuary Guesthouse Estate (including its owners, family managers, staff, agents, contractors, and affiliates) against any and all claims, liabilities, costs, losses, damages, or expenses, including legal fees, whether arising from negligence, wrongful acts, omissions, or any other cause. This indemnity covers, but is not limited to:
- Injury or death to persons.
- Damage or loss of property, including vehicles parked on the premises.
- Theft or loss of personal belongings or valuables.
- Any interruption or failure in services such as breakfast provisions, DSTV, Wi-Fi, remote access, laundry, room service, or other amenities.
Sanctuary Guesthouse Estate has taken every reasonable precaution to ensure your enjoyment, comfort, and safety. While we strive to offer serene surroundings, privacy with remote access, well-equipped cottages, and exceptional hospitality, you acknowledge there are inherent risks associated with any property stay. By signing in upon arrival, you accept these risks.
Fire extinguishers and first aid facilities are available at the office. Guests must not cause discomfort or disturbance to others. The owners reserve the sole right to determine whether behaviour is acceptable and may take reasonable action, including requiring guests to vacate the premises, should behaviour be deemed inappropriate.
The owners accept no liability for the loss of, or damage to, any valuables or personal property belonging to guests or visitors. It is each guest’s responsibility to arrange adequate insurance cover for valuable items prior to arrival, including photographic equipment, laptops, jewellery, cash, and vehicles.
Any guest or visitor using the swimming pool and surrounding area does so entirely at their own risk, acknowledging that no life-saving facilities are provided. By using these facilities, guests indemnify Sanctuary Guesthouse Estate and its owners in full and agree to have no claim whatsoever for injury, bodily harm, death, loss, or damage to property arising from such use. Children must be always accompanied by an adult.
You agree to report any incident or concern, such as injury, theft, damage, or service disruption, to management immediately and to complete any incident documentation if requested.
Should Sanctuary Guesthouse Estate suffer any loss or damage because of the actions or omissions of a guest or visitor, the responsible guest will be liable for the full cost of repairs or replacement, and an invoice will be issued for settlement.
Sanctuary Guesthouse Estate always reserves the full right of admission and accepts no liability for any loss or damage resulting from the lawful and reasonable exercise of such rights.
For the comfort and safety of all:
- No music or speakers are permitted on the premises.
- Smoking is not allowed inside buildings; smoking is only permitted in designated outdoor areas.
- Firearms are prohibited on the premises.
